Motorola Droid RAZR HD paid FCC a visit, inching ever closer to its release

After the release of the Motorola Atrix HD, all eyes are now on Moto’s next RAZR offering, the Droid RAZR HD. Pictures of the phone in real life have leaked along with a benchmark result on the side, but there’s still no word yet on its availability. But it looks we won’t have to wait for too long for the first Droid RAZR phone to sport an HD display to arrive on Verizon.

FCC has recently given its green light for the Motorola XT926, otherwise known as the Droid RAZR HD. The filing shows that the world phone is compatible with Verizon’s 4G LTE network. Aside from that, it doesn’t give away much else – except that Big Red should have no problem announcing the phone anytime now.

As for what the Droid RAZR HD will be packing, the phone is expected to come with an HD display (obviously), a dual-core 1.5GHz Snapdragon S4 processor, 1GB RAM, 13MP rear camera, Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, and possibly a 3,300mAh battery.

Seeing that Verizon is still reveling in the afterglow of the Galaxy S3’s success, it may be a month or two before the Droid RAZR HD is released. It’ll be well worth the wait for fans of the RAZR series and its Kevlar back cover.
