Spotify is giving Android users something to hum about, as it brings its free radio service to Android devices in the US. This is the same unlimited free radio service that has been available on iOS devices since last month.
While the radio streaming feature on Spotify Android app is available at no extra cost for premium subscribers, who are already paying a $10 monthly fee anyhow, non-subscribers can opt for the absolutely free service. The second option means the radio stream will get interrupted every now and then with ad-breaks. If you come across a song that’s worthy of another listen on your PC, you can easily give it a thumbs up – and it will go straight to your “Liked from Radio” playlist.
One feature that non-paying members don’t get is the convenience of skipping tracks while listening to their favorite radio station. Premium subscribers, on the other hand, get to skip any tracks to their hearts’ and ears’ content. Other Premium features include the option to sync your favorite playlists on all of your mobile devices and PC to listen offline. The free radio streaming is only offered for listeners in the US, though premium subscribers in other countries – wherever Spotify is available – will also get to bop their heads to the sound of music from the radio service .
